‘SWACHH BHARATH’ ACTIVITIES
‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ is
an initiative of the Government of India to make India as a clean India. The
campaign involves the construction of latrines, promoting sanitation programmes
in the rural areas, cleaning streets, roads and changing the infrastructure of
the country to lead the country ahead. It was launched on the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd of October, 2014. As a health science
institution, Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College involves in the
following Swatchh Bharath Activities:

Institution undertakes cleaning
programmes in collaboration with its various extension units. Under the
Swasthya Rakshan Programme, the Community Medicine Department adopted five
villages namely Pechipparai, Kadayalumoodu, Manjalumoodu, Melpuram and a remote
place in Colachel and undertakes health survey, health awareness programme,
medical camp, cleaning programme and School Sanitation Campaign.
Under
Swatch Bharat Summer Internship Programme, 8 groups of students under
the team leaders adopted villages in southern district of Tamilnadu. The
following activities are carried out as a part of the programme namely
awareness campaign for better sanitation practices like using of toilet, hand washing, health and hygiene. The
works carried out by the students are appreciated by the district officials
concerned.
